Though she is pursuing a career in law enforcement pursuant to her studies at Broward College, her love of animals and her warm bond with Dr. Polit drew her to the role, and she relishes the time she spends at the clinic. She describes her favorite element of the job being that she gets to watch animals receive as much love as they radiate to the world. It makes her feel fulfilled to see animals leave the hospital healthy and well once more. “When they feel better, I feel better,” Karina states with palpable joy.
Outside of the animal hospital, she works as a dispatcher for the Broward County Sheriff's Office, and loves to travel. She is the fur-mom of a cat called Doom, his moniker derived from the fact that he is a fat, cuddly, black ball of fur that she affectionately describes as, “The big, fat black cat that is my life.”
